For
Many years Lumut's Government Resthouse offered
a warm welcome to weary travellers and adventures.
Resting on the Guesthouse veranda they would exchange
stories of the day's events, their animated tales
interrupted only by the rolling tide lapping against
the shore and the friendly calls of passing fisherman.
And all this splendid serenity was wrapped in a
light, comforting sea breeze.
When the old Resthouse
came to graciously make way for a grand hotel,
every effort was made to preserve that feeling
of warmth and comfort. The enchanting breeze still
moves here, breathing life and romance into the
sea air. The lapping of the surf still rings its
tune, and the glorious sensets have lost none
of their passion.
However, what has
been added to this beautiful scene is a magnificent
hotel reminiscent of the days of Summer palaces.
