Drive towards the East Coast using the karak highway and the karak-Kuantan Highway. At the end of the Karak highway, one has a choice of one of two routes into Marang Jetty. Both are very scenic drive. The first route is via Bukit Besi and Jerangan. Using this way, one passes oil palm plantations and fruit orchards. Seasonal fruits are available fresh and for a good price. The coastal towns such as Cherating, Chukai, kemaman, Dungun, Kijal and Rantau Abang. One will get the sea-view alongmost of the way with the opportunities for savoring all the food delicacies the towns have to offer. End the drive at Maranf jetty. The journey, KL-Marang jetty, without any stopover should be approximately 4 - 4 ½ hours.
