Trip to Tioman by sea

Ferry from Singapore, AutoTioman depart at 8:30 a.m daily. From Tioman to Singapore at 2:30 p.m. Estimated travel time is 4.5 hrs to 5 hrs.

All passengers are advise to carry their passport with you during the trip.

To get to Tanah Merah ferry terminal, you may take Singapore Bus Service (SBS) No. 35 from the Bedok Bus Interchange. To get to the Bedok Bus Interchange, you may take bus service no. 7, 9, 14, 17, 18, 25, 26, 28, 30, 32, 34, 40, 66, 152 or 197. From Mersing to Tioman, you can  go either by speed boat (max passenger 20) or speed ferry(max passenger 150). The speed boat is reasonably good and gets you there in about 2 hours give or take. The best part is that there is a speedboat that leaves earlier than the alternative speed ferry.

The speed ferry seat more people and take only marginally longer - perhaps taking 2.5 to 3 hours to the island. These cost RM25. The last boat is about 4:00 p.m. so don't get tricked by anyone saying there is a 24 hour service so they can sell you a ticket. When you take either kind of boat, you can ask them to drop you wherever you want on Tioman.

The ferry port is just outside the center of Mersing town. From the JB-Rompin road, take Jalan Abu
Bakar straight past the town for about 200 metres and the port will be to your left right after the Mersing
Tourist Information Center. It is right next to the R&R Plaza which is the express bus station.
