Hotel
Vila Lumbung
is located 5km northwest of Legian/Kuta,
perfectly situated to enjoy a tranquil
holiday, but at the same time only an
inexpensive taxi-ride away from exciting
shopping and entertainment.
A
quiet sandy beach is also about 800 metres
away.
The
idea to build the Hotel Vila Lumbung originated
from the need to find the ideal place
for close friends, who make the long journey
from the west, and who wish to find the
best accommodation with an exotic flair,yet
at an affordable price.
The
Hotel Vila Lumbung (read the two "u"s
as in "luminary") is a small
exotic village surrounded by masterly
designed tropical gardens of approximately
15,000 square-meters.
The
special shape of the grass-roof villas
is derived from the typical Balinese "Lumbung".
The upper part of this center hut of each
family compound serves as a rice barn,
while the lower floor -an elevated sitting
area ("Balé")- is used
as a meeting place. We decided to transform
this concept into a unique design for
our guest rooms. While the dome-shaped
grass roof-top of the upper floors conveys
