1563, King Setthathirat made Vientiane (in Lao language Vieng Chan) the capital
of the kingdom of Lane Xang. The two most important Wats of Vientiane, Wat That
Luang and Wat Phra Keo date back to that time. In 1827 Vientiane had been conquered
and sacked by a Siamese army. For decades the town lay in ruins, until the French,
at the beginning of their colonial reign rebuilt it. However, Vientiane today
does not feature French-influenced architecture to the same extent as Phnom Penh
and Saigon. Instead there is a strong Thai influence. With barely half a Million
inhabitants Vientiane is the smallest capital in Southeast Asia (except for Bandar

(Laos ) DISCOVERY TOUR Day 01 : Vientiane
the Capital of Laos
Arrive in Vientiane located at the river banks of
the Mekong River .Vientiane pronounced as (Wien Chan ) by the local Laotians is
actually a laid back city with interesting Wats and lively bazaars. Meet and greet
at the airport and then transfer to your hotel for check in. Free at own Leisure
. Day 02 : Vientiane City and Monument Tour.
After Breakfast , wait at hotel's lobby. Tour will depart at 8:30 from hotel to
That Luang (The Golden Stupa ). After that we will then proceed to visit the famous
Patouxay Monument is similar to the (ARC de TRIOMPHE) in Paris. Then we will visit
the morning market (Tha Lat Sao) for you to do some shopping. Return to Hotel
for a rest. Lunch is at your own.
After Lunch at 2pm, we will continue our
Tour to visit Buddha Park known to local as Vat Xieng Khouan. From Buddha Park
we will then proceed to The National Ethic Cutural Park. At around 5pm , we will
then return to the hotel.
Rest of the day free at own leisure. You can always
go a drink at the local pub , or have your candle light dinner in the famous Mekong
River or dinner at a local or French Restaurant. Beer is very cheap in Laos ,cost
is less than USD2 .00 a one liter beer bottle.For entertainment , you can go for
massage or go to the famous Future Discotheque to unwind and meet the locals.
Remember in Laos , night entertainment outlets are only allowed to open till 11pm
the latest. Day 03 : Leaving Vientiane
Breakfast at Hotel , after Breakfast free at own leisure till time for your departure
to the airport for your flight home.
